The Seventeenth Law Lecture of Beijing Normal University——Interpretation of the Important System of Contract Compilation in Civil Code was successfully held on the evening of April 14th, 2021 ,in E206, Lijiao Building, Zhuhai Campus, Beijing Normal University. Professor Fang Xinjun, Dean of Wangjian Law School, Soochow University, gave a wonderful lecture to the students. This lecture was presided over by Associate Professor Cui Wenxing, Law School of Beijing Normal University, with the active participation of undergraduate and graduate students.
At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Cui Wenxing introduced the speaker of the lecture. Subsequently, Professor Fang Xinjun systematically expounded the predecessor, development and present situation of the contract compilation of the Civil Code from the historical evolution of the contract compilation of the Civil Code, which led to the key debate on the contract compilation-the retention or abolition of the total debt. Through vertical historical comparison and horizontal comparison between China and the West, he made an incisive analysis of the legal principle behind contract compilation; Combining with the hot examples of society, he expounded the profound influence of the basic principles of civil law on the compilation of contracts, and extended the theoretical controversy and innovation direction behind it, which inspired the students present to think in depth. Professor Fang insisted on sticking to the book, and made an in-depth interpretation of the key systems of contract compilation, such as the improvement of contract effectiveness and the change of unauthorized agency system, clarified the legal principles and legal interests behind it, and discussed the academic thinking caused by it.
At the end of the lecture, the students at the lecture actively asked questions about the contents of the lecture, and Professor Fang Xinjun answered the questions one by one. The heated academic discussion between teachers and students inspired a new round of academic speculation among the students present. This lecture lasted for nearly three hours. Professor Fang Xinjun's exquisite lecture greatly benefited the students present, and the lecture ended successfully with warm applause from the whole audience.
